SSS – An Arctic Christmas

Hello there,

I had an idea to create at least three different styles of cards with that stamp – yes I like to do that but also I do love that stamp.

The first style I wanted to work on was Watercolour. I haven’t watercoloured in ages and I do love the effect of watercolour. I have decided to do a small amount of mass-production with this technique and I might as well tell you straight away that did not work! ( “did not work” as in “no time saving ” or “identical result” whatsoever)

Here is what I’ve done, I stamped my image four times with some Versamark, I embossed two in clear and two in black, used my heatgun and finally attached all four cards with painter’s tape onto my work surface. I then started painting with Brusho. I did film the watercolour process but it was so messy (going back and forth) it would have taken ages to edit and I don’t think it would have been very pleasant for you to watch so I decided not to use the footage.

I found it really hard to paint because I was not directly above the cards (I attached them in a square shape, two at the top, two at the bottom for filming purposes) and just couldn’t see what I was doing,  I also went beyond the line loads! It probably took about two hours to colour all four cards and that was far too long for a result far too poor.

The day after I went back to it, frustrated I have to say, I tried adding some Copic At You Spica it was not satisfying AT ALL so as a last resort I thought let’s try Prismacolor pencils to add dimension. The rest is history (see photos ;))

I need to add that the Prismacolor pencils look great on the textured cardstock (not as nice on the smooth side really). but it’s really the combo of smooth Brusho colours behind a layer of texture Prismacolor that I love most.

I don’t normally write long blog post so I hope this will hope make sense!

Thanks for popping by 😉

Clearly Besotted – Thinking of You

Hello there!

I took opportunity of a sale on the Clearly Besotted website and bought a..hum…few… (hihi) stampsets! Here is a video of the card I made using the Thinking of you stampset.

This is a more simple card than what I usually do but there is so much going on at the moment, between sewing, colouring and videos that I have to do this to keep it all going.

Here are the photos
